Moto X 2015 may feature integrated fingerprint scanner in speaker
HIGHLIGHTS

A fresh leak of the upcoming Moto X has surfaced online, showing a front-facing flash and fingerprint scanner integrated within the front speaker

The upcoming 3rd generation Moto X is one of the much-anticipated upcoming smartphones. While a number of leaks have surfaced previously, the latest leak reveals two aspects that might suggest that Motorola is trying to think out of the box, to make the Moto X stand out in the heavily populated smartphone market.

The latest leak suggests two important features that might feature in the 3rd generation Moto X. In addition to a 2K display believed to be included in the smartphone, the Moto X is expected to feature a front-facing flash. Albeit a small aspect, it is important in present-day smartphones owing to the popularity of the front camera. Additionally, Motorola seems to have integrated the fingerprint scanner on the Moto X into the front speaker grille. If the leaks turn out to be true, this will be the first device to not allocate separate space for the fingerprint scanner. previously, the fingerprint scanner was expected to be placed more conventionally, at the back.

The Moto X is also expected to house a 21-megapixel primary camera, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor inside, and 4GB of RAM. None of the specifications are confirmed, though. Motorola has recently sent invites for a July 28 event, sparking rumours about the possible launch of Moto G and Moto X 3rd generations. The new generation Moto X is also expected to feature a rugged, waterproof version, called the Moto X Sport.

With the fingerprint scanner integrated into the front speaker, Motorola is most likely aiming to keep up with their tradition of providing large displays within a compact form factor and minimum bezels. Although nothing is confirmed, the upcoming event might give us an idea of what to expect.
