Motorola will announce Moto M, its latest smartphone with metal unibody design today. Ahead of the launch, Flipkart has started teasing the device hinting at the device being available exclusively on e-tailer's platform.
Moto M was first announced in China in November and it is likely to be priced under Rs 20,000 in India. The smartphone is crafted with aluminium unibody and also comes with waterproof coating. Under that metal unibody design, Moto M is very much similar to Moto G4 Plus – the Amazon exclusive smartphone.
Moto M features a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P15 processor. It is unclear whether Moto M will launch with that same processor here as well. The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Moto M is 7.85mm thick and weighs around 163 grams.
The smartphone sports a 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1 micron pixel size. The main camera also uses phase detection autofocus with dual LED flash. The front camera here is an 8MP one along with support for beauty mode.
Unlike Moto G4 Plus, the Moto M comes with rear fingerprint sensor and also supports Dolby Atmos Audio. The smartphone comes with GPS and GLONASS support. Moto M also uses USB-C port and not micro-USB for charging or data transfer.
Moto M is ideally Moto G4 Plus with elegant use of metal instead of plastic. It also swaps the Snapdragon processor for a MediaTek one but there shouldn't be much difference in terms of day-to-day performance. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and should get Nougat update soon.
