Motorola will launch the Moto G5S Plus, the updated version of its Moto G5 Plus in India today. Lenovo-owned Motorola is hosting an event in New Delhi where it will officially announce Moto G5S Plus for the Indian market. The smartphone will be available exclusively from Amazon India and the livestream of the launch event is expected to start at around 12 noon.
The Moto G5S and G5S Plus were announced early this month and Motorola is not wasting anytime bringing them to the Indian market. Motorola is calling the Moto G5S series as special editions and the Moto G5S Plus is an upgrade over the existing Moto G5 Plus in terms of material, display size and imaging capability.
With the Moto G5S Plus, Motorola is joining the trend of dual camera smartphones. The G5S Plus gets dual 13MP rear cameras with one RGB colour sensor and another monochrome sensor. Motorola says the additional sensor will enable features like portrait mode, selective focus and blurred background mode. There is also an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The smartphone features a premium design with all metal unibody casing and sports a slightly larger 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 chipset and comes in two storage options: 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.
The Moto G5S Plus gets a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The smartphone supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and 3.5mm audio jack. The special edition G5S Plus is backed by a 3000mAh battery and uses micro-USB port with turbo charging. The handset is expected to launch in gold and grey colour variants. The Moto G5 Plus is currently retailing for Rs 15,999 and the G5S Plus could be priced around Rs 20,000.
