Moto G5 Plus, the latest smartphone from Lenovo Moto will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The smartphone will be launched in India on March 15 and is expected to go on sale on the same day.
Lenovo announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at Mobile World Congress last month. In terms of design, the smartphones are a big departure from Moto G series in the past. The Moto G5 and G5 Plus now feature unibody metal casing with striking similarity to company's modular Moto Z series. The handsets are smaller in dimension in comparison with its predecessor.
Moto G5 Plus, in particular, now features a 5.2-inch full HD display as opposed to the 5.5-inch screen found on Moto G4 Plus. Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The handset will be available in three different storage options: 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. It is not clear whether Moto will introduce all three storage options in India.

Apart from the design, Moto has also updated the rear camera on G5 Plus. The handset now sports a 12MP rear shooter with f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus. It is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps and offers dual-LED flash. There is also a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies.
The Dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat along with Moto tweaks like always-on display and gesture support. The Moto G5 Plus sports a front-mounted fingerprint sensor which also doubles as Android navigation keys with swipe gesture support. Other features include 4G VoLTE support and access to Google Assistant out-of-the-box.
Moto G5 Plus is also likely to support NFC and uses microUSB port. The handset is backed by a decent 3000mAh battery along with support for fast charging. The Moto G5 Plus is priced at $229 (around Rs 15,300) for the base variant. Moto could price the device competitively here in order to take on the likes of the Redmi Note 4 and the Honor 6X.
