Motorola’s mid tier phone the Moto G will probably get a hardware update soon and the new model could be dubbed the Moto “G2”. The phone’s specs got revealed yesterday in a 3D graphics performance benchmark.
The benchmark which surfaced yesterday revealed that the new phone has the model no. XT1063 and runs Android 4.4.4. The benchmarked phone carries a quad core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (A7 SoC). The graphics are handled by a Qualcomm Adreno 305. The screen is now 5 inches diagonally and renders 1280 x 720p resolution. The device benchmarked had 8GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM. As for the camera, the Motorola XT1063 has a 7 MP primary camera and 2 MP secondary camera. The primary camera will be accompanied with a flash and both cameras are capable of 720p HD video recording.
The benchmark further revealed that the phone houses all the regular sensors sans NFC and comes with a single SIM card slot. If this is the new Motorola G or 'G2' then nothing much has changed besides its screen size and the primary camera which has been bumped up a little.
