HIGHLIGHTS

The next iteration of the Moto G is rumoured to be shown off in September and might arrive with a 5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor

The Moto G was a game changer in the Indian smartphone market and now we are hearing that the next version of the Moto G could just be announced in September. The rumours come from a retailer who confirms that the handset will launch on 10 of September with a price of 250 Euros (Rs. 20,500 approx.) which means it will be unveiled at IFA, Berlin and could launch with Motorola’s next flagship, the X+1.

The new Moto G is expected to sport a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU, an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera, 8GB internal memory and will be running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Now the specs don’t sound all that exciting, but a justified price could just do the trick. 250 Euros translate to about Rs.20,000 which is a lot more than the current generation of the Moto G. And since Xiaomi has already set the smartphone market on fire with the Mi3, it will be interesting to see that what kind of strategy Motorola will employ to tackle the hot smartphone.
