Motorola customers in India can rejoice. The company will be bringing the Lollipop update to its devices in the region soon. In an email sent out to its Motorola Feedback Network members, the company said that it is currently inviting owners of the Moto G (2nd Gen) to participate in an early preview of ‘a new software release’ in the country. The email provides a link, where users can fill out a form providing their name, serial number and IMEI number.
While Motorola doesn’t explicitly mention that the company is releasing the Android 5.0 update, it is highly unlikely that the ‘new software release’ at this time could be anything else. Also, considering that the Moto X (2nd Gen) and Moto G (2nd Gen) have both started getting the update in other regions, India should be getting it soon, as well. Further, this should also mean that the first gen versions of the Moto X and Moto G would be next in line to get the update, followed by the budget priced Moto E.
All the devices mentioned above has always been expected to get the Lollipop update. While Motorola has promised the same for the 2nd Gen versions of the Moto X and Moto G, at the launch of the first gen devices, the company had promised an update to the ‘next big release’ of Android. The company is keeping good on its promises and updates seem to be coming soon.
