Motorola has finally launched the long-awaited smartphone, the Moto Edge 50 Pro. It is a mid-range smartphone that packs the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. Motorola had collaborated with Pantone for the design of its Edge series smartphones. However, this time, along with the back, the Moto Edge 50 Pro also has a Pantone-certified display and camera. In this article, I am going to compare the all-new Moto Edge 50 Pro with the recently launched Nothing Phone (2a). Let’s go!
Moto Edge 50 Pro vs Nothing Phone (2a): Design
The Moto Edge 50 Pro features a solid design and comes in three Pantone colours; Black, Purple, and White. The black and purple variant comes with a vegan leather finish just like we saw in the Moto Edge 40. Moreover, in the top left corner, there is a lifted camera module that houses a triple camera setup. Coming to the front, the Edge 50 Pro features a curved display and a punch-hole cutout.
Nothing’s smartphones are known for their aesthetic and transparent design. The Nothing Phone (2a) is available in Black and White color variants. It features the signature clean design of Nothing with a transparent rear panel. Positioned in the center, the dual cameras resemble popping eyes. Additionally, it includes Glyph interface lights for notifications and calls.

Moto Edge 50 Pro vs Nothing Phone (2a): Display
Motorola claims that Edge 50 Pro’s Pantone-certified display is the world’s first true colours display. It has a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. Moreover, this display supports up to 144Hz refresh rate and has up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. The display is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2a) is equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour, and has 1300 nits of peak brightness. This display is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Moto Edge 50 Pro vs Nothing Phone (2a): Performance
Speaking of performance, the Moto Edge 50 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which is paired with up to 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. It runs on the latest Android 14, and that too the stock one! Furthermore, the Edge 50 Pro is backed by a 4500mAh battery with 125-watt fast charging support and 50-watt wireless charging support.
The Phone (2a) is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, specially designed for this device. Additionally, it provides a maximum of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity. Notably, it operates on the Nothing OS 2.5 UI, built on Android 14 without any pre-installed bloatware. A 5000mAh battery powers this smartphone and supports 45-watt fast charging.

Moto Edge 50 Pro vs Nothing Phone (2a): Camera
The Moto Edge 50 Pro is equipped with a triple camera setup, holding a 50-megapixel main camera with PDAF and OIS support, a 10-megapixel Telephoto sensor, and a 13-megapixel Ultrawide lens. On the front, there is a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Phone (2a) is equipped with a dual-camera system, consisting of a 50-megapixel OIS main camera and a 50-megapixel Ultrawide lens. Additionally, it boasts a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro has dropped in India at a starting price of ₹27,999. It will be available on Flipkart from April 9. Whereas, the Nothing Phone (2a) is available on e-commerce websites at a starting price of ₹23,999.
