Moto E Power expected in India on September 19
The Moto E series has historically been sold under the budget range.
Motorola is gearing up to add another product to its portfolio in India. The company has sent out press invites for an event on September 19 for the launch of the Moto E Power smartphone. Motorola also launched the Moto G Play smartphone in India recently. Interestingly, the Moto G Play is being sold in the sub-10k range, and the Moto E series has traditionally been sold in this range as well. So, it is possible that the Moto E Power will be priced below Rs. 7,000.
Late last month, Playfuldroid reported that the Moto E3 Power (XT1706) was available for sale in Hong Kong at HKS 1,098 (approx. Rs. 9,466). As per the report, the phone has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6735p SoC with 2GB of RAM. The device sports 8MP and 5MP cameras, and offers 16GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB. The device also packs a 3500 battery and runs Android Marshmallow v6.0.1.
The Moto G Play is priced at Rs. 8,999 and has a 5-inch HD display along with the Snapdragon 410 SoC, with 2GB of RAM. It sports 8MP and 5MP cameras and offers 16GB of storage. There's also a 2800mAh battery and runs Android Marshmallow. The Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus have already been launched in India.
