Motorola has given its 2nd generation Moto E devices a price cut by Rs. 1,000. Both the 3G and 4G variants of the Moto E are now cheaper by the margin. Previously, the 2nd gen. Moto E was selling on Flipkart for Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 7,999 for the 3G and 4G variants respectively.
The price cut comes after Motorola’s invitation to a July 28 event raised speculations of possible launches of the much rumoured 3rd generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones. With Motorola’s invitation carrying the theme of monsoon, rumours have also surfaced of a waterproof and rugged variant of the Moto X, dubbed the ‘Moto X Sport’. The Moto 360, Motorola’s smartwatch, has also been touted for an upgrade.
Recently, a number of photos of the 2nd generation Moto G was leaked, showing how the phone might look. It was also given a price cut by a margin of Rs. 3,000, and is presently priced at Rs. 9,999. Now, both variants of the 2nd generation Moto E have also been given a permanent discount, listed by Flipkart for Rs. 5,999 for the 3G variant, and Rs. 6,999 for the 4G one. The 3G variant of the Moto E is powered by a 1.2GHz+ Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and Adreno 302 GPU, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. The 5-megapixel primary camera is capable of recording 480p videos at 30fps. It features a 4.5” display with a resolution of 960×540 pixels, and powered by a 2390mAh battery.
The 4G variant of Moto E has the same display, battery, RAM and storage options. Additionally, it features a 1.2GHz+ Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, Adreno 306 GPU, and can record 720p videos at 30fps. Both the devices are also eligible for a further Rs. 2,000 discount via an exchange offer on Flipkart, which will make the 2nd generation 4G-enabled Moto E one of the lowest-priced 4G-enabled smartphones in the market right now.
