The Moto C is now the cheapest device from the company in India, and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737M SoC
Moto has launched its cheapest device in India. Called the Moto C, the smartphone is priced at Rs. 5,999 and sports a 5-inch FWVGA display. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737M processor with 1GB of RAM. The device is equipped with a 2350mAh battery and offers 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB. At the back of the device is a 5MP primary camera with an LED flash, while at the front is a 2MP camera with selfie flash. The phone comes with a stock version of Android Nougat v7.0 with support for 4G VoLTE.
Sudhin Mathur, Managing Director, Motorola Mobility India and Country Head, Lenovo Mobile Biz Group, stated, “according to the reports fewer people are expected to upgrade to smartphones because of concerns over price, need and ability to use. We see this as a huge opportunity for a brand like us to initiate the smartphone journey for feature phone users. At Motorola, we focus on mobility through device innovation, user-centric design and smart connectivity to offer the best possible smartphone experience to the consumers.”
The Moto C was unveiled a few weeks back and is the cheapest Moto device in the market. Before this, Moto’s E series of phones usually held that title. The Moto E3 Power is the newest E series device that is current available, but the company is expected to launch its successor, the Moto E4 soon.
