Lenovo will announce its budget Android smartphone, the Moto C Plus in India on June 19. The company has sent out a media invite for the event just days after launching the entry-level Moto C in India. With Moto C Plus, Lenovo will be hoping to compete against Xiaomi's best-selling Redmi 4 series in India.

Motorola had first announced the Moto C and Moto C Plus smartphones for Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific markets last month. The Moto C Plus features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. The handset comes standard with 16GB storage and option for either 1 or 2GB RAM. It also supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card.

Moto C Plus sports an 8MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and  LED flash. There is a 2MP front camera with LED flash for low-light selfies. The smartphone offers connectivity options like WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0 port.

The Moto C Plus packs a beefy 4000mAh battery, which is a huge improvement over 2350mAh battery found on Moto C. The smartphone will also support fast charging with Motorola's proprietary turbocharging technology. The handset runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and was announced at €119 (approximately Rs 8,500). The handset is likely to be available in metallic cherry, pearl white, fine gold, starry black colour options via both online as well as offline retail channels.
