The official rollout began on October 22. Now, Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi Y2 are getting updated to the new MIUI 11, which aims to bring a brand new optimized modern UI design focused on content viewing. The company has almost completed MIUI 11 rollout for the first batch of devices.
The latest development comes from the Mi Community, that says Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 11 to Redmi Y2 and Redmi 6 Pro users in India. Redmi 6 Pro gets MIUI 11.0.3.0.PDMMIXM update. It weighs 534MB in size. In contrast, Redmi Y2 receives MIUI 11.0.1.0.PEFMIXM that weighs about 1.5 GB in size. Moreover, Xiaomi has updated the security patch on both devices as they run on the October security patch.
MIUI 11 brings new features such as new icons, ultra power saving mode, system-wide dark mode, and more. It has Quick Replies, New Dynamic Sound Effects, New Minimalistic Design, Mi Share, Floating Calculator, Updated Mi File Manager, Steps Trackers and more to both the devices.
Mi Share feature comes from the collaboration of Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo, which enables users for a cross-brand file transfer technology. It lets users transfer files quickly (up to 82Mbps), and can be found as Mi Share on MIUI 11.
The new file manager shows each file as a thumbnail, similar to what you see on the laptop and PCs, which makes it easier for users to find a document. Further, MIUI 11 brings an updated Notes app that adds a new tasks section.
