Microsoft to roll out Windows 10 update for phones tomorrow?
A report by VentureBeat suggests that Microsoft may roll out the Windows 10 for Mobile update tomorrow, but it is still not clear which devices will get the update
Microsoft may start rolling out the Windows 10 for Mobile update from tomorrow, according to a report by VentureBeat. However, it still isn’t clear which devices will be getting the update as the list is a closely guarded secret. In addition, the report claims that Microsoft may utilize a ‘pull out’ model for the update, meaning that even if a device is eligible and part of the initial roll out, the update will not be automatically pushed to the device. Users will instead have to manually check to see if their device has received the update.
A few days ago, a representative of Vodafone Italy had posted a compiled list of upcoming updates for the carrier’s phones. The list suggested that the Lumia 535, Lumia 635, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, Lumia 930, and Lumia 1520 would get the OTA update for Windows 10 for Mobile between March 7 and March 13. So there is a possibility the Microsoft may finally roll out the update this month. The company had initially planned to roll out the update last year, however, it later announced that the update process would begin from 2016 instead. Microsoft did not give any reason for the delay.
