Microsoft launches Windows Phone in India a year late, reveals device lineup
Microsoft has officially launched Windows Phone as a mobile operating system in India, perplexing many of us, as the first Windows Phone to arrive in the country was the HTC HD7, back in December 2010. Better late than never we suppose, but we still don’t see the need of a media launch of the operating system. It didn’t help Android become a popular OS in India, that’s certain.
Much more relevantly, Microsoft revealed the lineup of Windows Phone devices expected in India in the near future, starting with the HTC Radar. The Samsung Omnia W will follow, along with a device from Acer (possibly the Acer W4 a.k.a. Acer Allegro). Subsequently, we can expect a device from Nokia, the Nokia 800, also bearing similar specifications and only expected in Q1 2010.
