Microsoft has said that it has identified the root cause for the SMS bug discovered in its Windows Phone operating system. According to reports, Microsoft is presently testing a fix for the Windows Phone devices and is also investigating other devices that have been possibly affected by the bug. However, the company has not yet released a time frame to fix the glitch, but it’s likely that the fix will be come very soon.
The SMS bug was spotted earlier this month by Khaled Salameh, who claimed that the bug caused rebooting of the phone and goes on to disable the texting app. Citing Salameh in its report, The Verge says several desktop applications could crash if the bug is planted via Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Mail, Silverlight based apps, Visual Studio 2010, Expressions Blend, Windows Presentation Foundation based apps.
