Lumia 430, Microsoft’s most affordable Windows Phone announced

Microsoft Lumia 430 launched, features snapdragon processor, dual sim and Windows 8.1 OS upgradeable to Windows 10.

Microsoft has announced the Lumia 430, its cheapest Windows Lumia smartphone till date at just $70, roughly Rs. 4380. The budget device will be launched next month in emerging markets including India, parts of Pacific Asia and the Middle East.

The Microsoft Lumia 430 features 4-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor coupled and 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone has 8 GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. It has a 2 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. Connectivity options included in the Lumia 430 are WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and GPS support.

The Lumia 430 packs a 1500mAh replaceable battery. The smartphone runs on Widows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Denim update. The Lumia 430 will be upgradeable to Windows 10 for phones when it is released later this year. Microsoft has also pre-loaded the device with popular apps, including Skype for IMs, Microsoft Office, voice chats, and video calls. The Lumia 430 will be available in black and bright orange colors. Jo Harlow, Microsoft's corporate vice president, had this to say about the new budget-friendly device: "People around the world have responded enthusiastically to our affordable Lumia range. The Lumia 430 Dual SIM continues our commitment to combining the right hardware, software, services and apps with the right price to give people a smartphone they can afford and be proud to use."

Last month Microsoft had announced the budget Lumia 532 and 435 smartphones in India for Rs. 6,499 and 5,999 respectively. Both the smartphones are available in dual and single sim variants and come with free 30GB of OneDrive cloud storage.

Apart from the smartphone, Microsoft is also focussing on smart feature phone segment. It launched its Nokia 215 Dual SIM launched in India at Rs. 2149.
