Yu is asking users to enter the contest through its social network channels, like Facebook and Twitter.

Micromax’s Yu is taking a giving the concept of community driven sales a whole new outlook. The recently announced brand, whose first phone was the Yu Yureka, has just asked its community to name its next smartphone. This is the Project Caesar smartphone that Yu has been working on for a while now. The company’s crowdsourcing campaign is being launched under the hashtag #YuNameIt, asking fans to suggest names for the device.

In order to take part in the campaign, you can simply go to Yu’s social pages, including its Twitter and Facebook pages. The contest, which began yesterday, will continue till Friday (April 3). The top 5 names from all the suggestions will then be put to a vote, which will run from April 4 to April 7. The most voted name will then become the official title of the Project Caesar smartphone.

The Yu brand had started just a few months ago, with its first smartphone being the Yu Yureka. The company has been quite successful with that device, mimicking most of the features of the OnePlus One, but at a much lower price point than the One. The next device, which has been teased by Yu often, seems to have its sights set on Xiaomi and its Redmi 2 smartphone.

Yu has posted a number of teasers for this device and it seems the company is only lacking a name for it right now.
