Micromax’s latest ad campaign ridicules Samsung’s Y smartphones
Micromax of late has been on a launch spree, flooding the market with devices in each possible budget category. The company is now set to up the game and take on the international brands dominating the Indian market. Micromax’s latest ad campaign takes a dig at Samsung’s popular Galaxy Y series smartphones.
While touting its new Ninja 3.5 and Ninja 4 series of smartphones, Micromax on its Facebook page says, “Thought Y was cool? Here’s why you need to think again! The new Ninja 3.5 & Ninja 4 – Bigger, Faster, Better.”
The ad goes on to ridicule Samsung’s popular ‘aapke paas nahi hai uncle’ catchphrase and coins new ‘aapke paas nahi hai aunty’! The ad also ridicules the ‘smaller’ screen, size and other features of Samsung’s devices. Well, here’s the ad:
And here’s another Micromax commercial mocking the Samsung budget smartphones.
Well, it’s not the first time Micromax ad campaigns have targeted an international brand. Last year, the company ridiculed the iPhone 4S, by touting its A75 Superfone Lite as “i-can-afford-this-Phone-4sure” device.
Micromax has evolved as one of the major brands in the budget segment and is evidently giving a tough competition to the likes of Nokia and Samsung. While Nokia banks on its new Asha series of smartphones, Samsung has expanded its Y series with more budget and dual-SIM smartphones.
