Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G with 2GB RAM launched for Rs. 6,599

Micromax has launched the Canvas Xpress 4G at an event held in New Delhi. The new phone is priced at Rs. 6,599 and would be available exclusively on Flipkart via an open sale from today. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek SoC with 2GB RAM. The phones has a 5-inch HD display with an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera. It also has 16GB internal memory with a 2000mAh battery. Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G runs Android Lollipop and has metallic edge. The Micromax CEO, Vineet Taneja said during the event that the Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G will be the cheapest phone with 2GB RAM. 

The phone will be competing phone such as the Yu Yuphoria and the Xiaomi Redmi 2. The Yu Yuphoria comes with a 5-inch HD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC with 2GB RAM. It has an 8MP camera at the back with a 5MP camera in the front. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has a 4.7-inch HD screen with a Snapdragon 410 SoC and 2GB RAM. It also has an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera. 

Yesterday, the Micromax Canvas Amaze was unofficially listed for Rs. 7,999. The company has confirmed that the phone will be announced officially soon and will be available offline as well. The Canvas Amaze comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 SoC with 2GB RAM. At the back is a 13MP camera with a 5MP camera in the front. The device also comes with 8GB of on-board storage that is expandable up to 32GB. It also comes with a 2000mAh battery which Micromax claims to give seven hours of talktime and 260 hours of standby time.
