Micromax has unveiled a new smartphone aimed at selfie enthusiasts. Called the Canvas Selfie, the new Micromax smartphone will be available from second week of January. Theere's no word on the pricing of the smartphone as yet.
The new Micromax Canvas Selfie features 13MP rear and front facing camera with flash and Sony sensor. The Canvas Selfie has a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16GB of built-in storage, supports expandable storage up to 32GB.
For connectivity, the Canvas Selfie supports dual-SIM, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It is powered by a 2300 mAh battery.

With selfies becoming massively popular across the world, smartphone brands have started to launch phones with improved front camera. While HTC launched the Desire Eye (13MP front and rear camera), Sony launched Xperia C3. Panasonic recently launched Eluga S, an octa-core selfie smartphone. Alcatel has launched Flash, octa-core selfie phone launched at Rs. 9,999.
