Micromax Canvas Infinity with bezel-less screen, Android Nougat to be launched in India today
The Canvas Infinity is rumoured to be a nearly bezel-less smartphone with a display aspect ratio of 18:9
Micromax is all set to launch its latest flagship, the Micromax Canvas Infinity, at its launch event scheduled for today, August 22. The launch of this event will be live streamed online and can be watched here. The smartphone teases a Univisium display with an 18:9 screen ratio and a nearly bezel-less design.
According to rumours, the Micromax Canvas Infinity is expected to sport a display similar to the LG G6, Q6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. If this is the case, Micromax might be the first Indian mobile phone maker to incorporate the Univisium display in a budget segment smartphone.
As per a teased image of the Canvas Infinity in the launch invite, the phone sports curved edges and has no physical buttons at the front. The smartphone seems to have extended the screen vertically and shrink bezels horizontally to deliver a big screen experience. This is similar to the LG Q6 which is placed in the mid-budget segment.
The LG Q6 sports a 5.5-inch Full Vision display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display offers an aspect ratio of 18:9 and the smartphone features a screen-to-body ratio of 78 percent.
The 18:9 display seems to be making its way to budget segment smartphones and it will be enthralling to see what smartphone manufacturers have in store.
