Micromax Canvas 5 with 3GB RAM launched, priced at Rs. 11,999

Micromax has launched the Canvas 5 smartphone. The device is priced at Rs. 11,999 and is available from today. The device comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. At the back of the device is a 13MP camera while at the front is a 5MP camera. The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek SoC with 3GB of RAM. The device comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded by up to 64GB via a microSD card. The Canvas 5 runs Android Lollipop v5.1 with a planned upgrade to Marshmallow. The device is also supports Dual-SIM with one SIM supporting 4G. The Micromax Canvas 5 also comes with a metallic edge and comes with a 2900mAh battery. Airtel subscribers who purchase the device will also get Airtel's double data offer for three months, along with a seven day doorstep service policy from Micromax.
At Rs. 11,999, the Micromax Canvas 5 will be competing with devices like the Xiaomi Mi 4i and the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser. The Mi 4i comes with a 5-inch Full HD display and 2GB of RAM. Like the Canvas 5, the Mi 4i comes with a 13MP camera at the back along with a 5MP camera at the front. The Zenfone 2 Laser comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and 3GB of RAM. At the back of the device is a 13MP camera with laser assisted autofocus. At the front is a 5MP camera.
