Micromax Andro A70 launches at Rs. 8,999 – a 3G-enabled Android Froyo phone
Micromax has released its latest Android offering, the Andro A70, its third Android phone after the low-cost Andro A60 and the Bling 2. Meant to replace the A60, the Andro A70 has been priced at Rs. 8,999 – the same price the Bling 2 was launched it. We can expect it to be significantly cheaper on the streets. Interestingly, the A70 is a 3G-enabled device (7.2Mbps HSDPA), exceptional at its price.

Featuring a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480, the Micromax Andro A70 runs on Android 2.2 Froyo (seemingly the platform of choice for low-cost Android devices) and on a 600MHz processor. It has a 5MP camera onboard, with a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It also offers GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity, as well as Mi-Fi Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, and comes with a large 1,450 mAh battery.
Other features of the Micromax Andro A70 include gravity and proximity sensors, inbuilt storage of 160MB (expandable up to 32GB via microSD), and a variety of preloaded applications, including Moneycontrol Markets, Ebuddy, Opera Mini, MiRoamer- Mobile radio, Saavn, Mosho, Mundu Live TV, Facebook and Whatsapp etc. Micromax is also touting access to its app store, M! – apps, apart from the Android Market.
