The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be priced at CNY 5699 (approx. Rs 57000), says a leak on Weibo. This would make the upcoming Mi Note 2 the most expensive offering from the Chinese smartphone maker.
According to AndroidPure a powerpoint slide from a Xiaomi presentation has been spotted on Chinese social networking website Weibo. The slide quotes a price of CNY 5699 or US$845 for the new smartphone. If the leak turns out to be true, it could mean a departure from Xiaomi’s long standing formula of offering smartphones with high specifications at low prices. The website also speculated that the price mentioned on the slide is for a higher variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage options. The slide also mentions that the new smartphone will be available for sale in China from 10 am on November 1, 2016. Recently, the company announced that the device will be unveiled on October 25, 2016.
Of late, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been the subject of several leaks and rumours. If the leaks are to be believed the smartphone will feature a curved glass back, much like the Mi 5. The new smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, along with 64GB of storage and 6GB RAM. A higher variant with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM might also be released. Rumours also suggest that the Note 2 will sport a 5.7-inch curved OLED display and a 3600mAh battery. There will also be a 16MP dual-rear camera setup along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Earlier leaks have suggested that the phone will have very thin bezels.
