Alleged press-rendered images of the Meizu MX5 Pro have been leaked. Meizu is expected to officially announce the smartphone on September 23. The images reveal a metal body on the smartphone, along with Flyme OS 5.0.
Recently, the Meizu MX5 Pro smartphone was rumoured to run on stock Android, but new leaks point to an updated version of Meizu's Flyme OS 5.0, on top of Android v5.1 Lollipop. It is expected to run on an Exynos 7420 chipset, the same one powering the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge, or even a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM. It is also expected to house a 5.5- or 5.7-inch, 1080p display, and a 21MP rear camera. No information is available about the battery rating of the smartphone. It is expected to have a price tag lower than $500 (approx. Rs. 33,000), when it hits stores in China. Considering the hardware on offer, the smartphone can make a formidable overall package, if it launches in India within the 25k price bracket.
Recently, we have seen the launch of the Moto X Play, that boasts of a same-resolution, 21MP rear camera, and its performance has been quite impressive. Meizu has also recently launched the MX5 in India, which might feature on lists of top 10 smartphones within the concerned price bracket, if Meizu can team up dependable customer service along with the good package on offer.
