Meizu’s most affordable offering, the M2, is currently available via open sale. Priced at Rs. 6,999, the smartphone otherwise requires eager buyers to register, and is sold via a flash sale model in India, on Snapdeal. Today, though, you can buy the phone directly without any registration. The open sale has already started at 11am, and will go on until stocks last. Also, this is the fourth open sale of the Meizu M2.
The Meizu M2 is currently one of the best phones in the sub-7k budget category. The phone offers a similar design as other Meizu phones, with a curved back, a single home-and-back button below the display, and a single speaker at the bottom of the phone. The phone features a 5-inch 720p display at the front, protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6735 SoC. This 64-bit quad-core SoC was also recently seen on the Coolpad Note 3. The M2 features 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD cards. It should be noted that the phone is dual-SIM-capable, and uses the secondary SIM card slot for microSD expansion.
The sub-7k smartphone also features a 13MP rear camera with single-LED flash. At the front is a 5MP camera. The 2500mAh battery pack is not removable, and the M2 runs on the latest version of the Flyme OS, v4.5, layered on top of Android Lollipop v5.1. The phone supports 4G FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE bands, with other connectivity features like WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, and GLONASS.
The Meizu M2 is up against the likes of Lenovo A6000 and Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime. In terms of after-sales support, Meizu has 46 customer care centres across 13 cities in India. The company also has a toll-free Customer Service Hotline number: 1800-3070-9925, if you need assistance.
