MeeGo 1.0 for handsets was released in June, and since then, hundreds of Nokia N900 users have had their fun playing around (or seriously using) the operating system. Now, MeeGo 1.1 for a variety of platforms (Core Software Platform, Netbook User Experience, In-Vehicle Infotainment, and Handset User Experience) has been released, and once again, it’s compatible with the Nokia N900.

What must be noted is that Nokia officially doesn’t offer support for installing MeeGo on your N900, so, if anything goes wrong, it’s at your own risk. Download the MeeGo 1.1 operating system and other requisite files and images by clicking on the highlighted links.
The developers among you will want to know that the MeeGo 1.1 is based on the 2.6.35 Linux kernel, and, also includes X.org Server 1.9.0, Qt Mobility 1.0.2 and Qt 4.7. A beta release of the MeeGo 1.1 SDK has been released, though a final version is rumoured to be days away.
