HIGHLIGHTS

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC has an octa-core setup and is based on the third-generation 4nm process.

The chipset comes with Wi-Fi 7 and a 5G R16 modem.

It also offers support for features like low-power AI-ISP and always-on HDR up to 4K resolution.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset has been in talks for some time now as the latest flagship chipset by the company. What has also been in talks is MediaTek’s flagship chipset that will directly compete with the Snapdragon one. And now the chipset called the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is ready. It succeeds the previous Mediatek 9200 chipset. The company calls it the most powerful flagship chipset to date. Read along to find out more details about it.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300 specifications

To begin with, the new chipset by MediaTek has an octa-core setup and is based on the third-generation 4nm process. It is being said that this is the first chip to include all big cores for enhanced performance. The chipset includes four Arm Cortex-X4 cores with up to 3.25GHz clock speed and four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. This gives it a slight upper hand as its competitor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, only has a clocking speed of 3.3GHz. The chipset comes with Wi-Fi 7 and a 5G R16 modem.

For enhanced picture quality, we even get MiraVision Picture Quality (PQ). On top of that, it also supports Android 14’s Ultra HDR format. You will find display configurations include WQHD at 180Hz and 4K up to 120Hz on this chip.

We might not have to wait for a long while before we can get to experience the new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The chipset could debut with Vivo’s X100 lineup which goes live on November 13.

Speaking about the new release, Joe Chen said, “The Dimensity 9300 is MediaTek’s most powerful flagship chip yet, bringing a huge boost in raw computing power to flagship smartphones with our groundbreaking All Big Core design. This unique architecture, combined with our upgraded on-chip AI Processing Unit, will usher in a new era of generative AI applications as developers push the limits with edge AI and hybrid AI computing capabilities.“
