After Apple and Samsung, it is now Google’s turn. It is all set to host its upcoming event on August 13. There’s a lot of different things happening this time. The first one is a timing shift. Traditionally, Google has mostly hosted its Made By Google a few months later, around autumn. But this time, it is being held earlier. Probably Google wanted to drop its Pixel 9 series prior to the Apple iPhone 16 series.
Another reason why Google might have decided to go earlier than expected is because of the US media elections. Google has big plans for the event and that’s probably why it doesn’t really want to take any chances. What will be on display? Let’s find out.
The entire year has been about AI this time. All the major companies have been dropping their own AI improvements. And it is expected that Google will also take that route. We might get to see some big announcements related to its Gemini project.
Apart from that, we might also get to see the new Pixel lineup. As always, Google has given us a hint of what to expect this time from the lineup. It teased its new devices which include the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Fold.
Both of these smartphones are expected to be the most premium offerings by the company. Apart from that, Google was smart enough not to share any other details to keep the excitement and curiosity up.
As I mentioned previously, AI is probably going to be a big attraction during the event. The tagline for both the phones on the teaser was- “A phone built for the Gemini era”. This clearly indicated that the premium offerings will be AI-compatible.
Let’s see what we can expect on August 13.
