Lumigon T3 is the world’s first smartphone with a night vision camera
The 4MP night vision camera is aided by a dual-IR flash to allow it to take pictures in total darkness
Danish manufacturer, Lumigon has launched its T3 smartphone, which is the world's first phone to feature a night vision camera. The 4MP camera is aided with a dual-IR flash that should allow users to take pictures in complete darkness. The device can also take regular pictures via 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. Besides the camera, the phone also features BackTouch, which is an area located under the rear cameras that can be used to take selfies or scroll through content. The phone is priced at $740, which is roughly Rs. 49,400.
As for the remaining specifications, the device sports a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution and is powered by a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The phone offers 128GB of onboard storage and runs Android Marshmallow v6.0. Further, it features a fingerprint sensor, and is dust and water resistant.
Another device that offers a completely unique camera is the CAT S60. The device features a thermal imaging camera at the back that is powered by technology from FLIR. The camera is capable of capturing heat sources from up to 100 feet away even through obscurants such as smoke. The device was unveiled at this year’s MWC and is available for pre-order at $599 (approx. Rs. 40,000).
