In a shocking incident that has left many in disbelief, a 30-year-old Flipkart delivery man lost his life during what should have been a routine delivery in Lucknow. Bharat Sahu, who was delivering an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh, was allegedly murdered by two men on September 23. His body was subsequently dumped into the Indira Canal, raising serious concerns about the safety of delivery personnel in the area.

Sahu, a resident of Nishatganj, went missing after he left for the delivery. His family became worried when he did not return home for two days and filed a missing person report at the Chinhat police station on September 25, reports PTI (via TOI). Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh provided details of the case, stating, “On September 23, delivery boy, Bharat Sahu of Nishatganj, went to deliver the phone at his place where he was killed by Gajanan and his accomplice. After strangulating Sahu, they put his body in a sack and disposed it off in the Indira Canal.”

The order for the iPhone was placed with the cash on delivery (COD) option, which is a common payment method for many online shoppers.

Following the report of Sahu’s disappearance, the police began their investigation. A breakthrough came when they found Gajanan’s phone number, leading them to his friend named Akash. During interrogation, Akash confessed to being involved in the crime. However, as of now, authorities have not yet located Sahu’s body, prompting the involvement of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to search the canal.
