Micromax has launched its budget Canvas Spark smartphone in India today. The device has a 1.3GHz MediaTek Cortex A7 quad-core SoC and runs on Android Lollipop. It will sell exclusively on Snapdeal at a price of Rs 4,999. In addition, users can register for the device on 22 April (tomorrow), from 12pm onwards.
The Canvas Spark has a 4.7 inch qHD IPS display,along with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. There's also an 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP camera on the front. The Canvas Spark weighs about 134 grams and is around 8.5 mm thick. It is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and has 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable to 32GB. Hands on with Android One
Further, Micromax also announced that the homegrown smartphone maker will be preloading the Canvas Spark with Snapdeal, Saavn, Newshunt, Hotstar, PayTM and Quickr mobile applications, while the phone will also support 21 languages through Reverie Language Technologies, the same firm that has been working with Google for the language translation process for its Android One project.
