LG has announced the Band Play smartphone, and it will launch soon in Korea at a price of $356 (Approx. Rs. 22,700). It has a 5 inch HD Display, and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 Processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable to 32GB).
The Band Play has a 13MP camera with laser autofocus and a 5MP front-facing camera. The Band Play may look unimpressive with those specs, till you come to the speakers department. LG has fitted the smartphone with a capable 1W speaker, and bundles the Band Play with Quadbeat 3 headphones. The LG G3 also features a powerful 1-watt speaker on its back.
The Band Play has Wifi n, Bluetooth 4.1, and NFC, and has a 2300mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 with LG’s custom overlay, and has a new mode that minimizes distractions in order to help you focus. It is aptly named ‘Focus Mode’.
There’s no news of availability in other regions. For 23K, you get a massively underpowered processor, but LG hopes to set itself apart with laser-autofocus and 1W speakers, features not found in this price segment.
