Budget LG X5 and X Skin unveiled in Korea
Both the LG X5 and X Skin smartphones are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC, and offer a 720p display.
LG has launched two new budget smartphones in its new X range of smartphones. The devices are being named LG X5 and LG X Skin. Both were launched in Korea yesterday, and like previous X-series phones, are aimed at the budget segment. LG already has six phones in its X-range, namely X Cam, X Style, X Screen, X Power, X Mach and X Max.
The LG X5 houses a 5.5-inch, 720p resolution IPS LCD display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 32GB. It features a 13MP rear camera at the back, and a 5MP front-facing camera. The LG X5 is 7.2mm thin, features a 2800mAh removable battery and weighs 133 grams.
The LG X Skin, on the other hand, is thinner and lighter. It weighs 122 grams and is just 6.9mm thin. It sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display, with screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The X Skin is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage with microSD support of up to 32GB. The LG X Skin has an 8MP camera at the back, and a 5MP camera up front. The small 2100mAh battery is removable.
Both smartphones support LTE, and run on LG’s custom UI layered on top of Android Marshmallow 6.0. The LG X5 is priced at KRW 200,000 (Rs. 11,600 approximately), and the X Skin is priced at KRW 231,000 (Rs. 13,400 approximately). LG hasn't announced if the two new devices will be made available in other parts of the world.
