LG denies Mahesh Telecom tweet about LG V20 availability in India
LG V20 is the first smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box
LG V20, the latest flagship from South Korean smartphone maker will apparently be available for purchase in India starting tomorrow. The availability was revealed by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom in a tweet. The smartphone is available at Mahesh Telecom for a best buy price of Rs 54,999. However, on speaking to LG, the company informed us that the LG V20 isn't available in the country at the moment.
LG V20 has been long rumoured to launch in India and its been a month since its availability in the US and Canada. The smartphone is the first device to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The smartphone is the successor to the widely acclaimed LG V10.
According to Mahesh Telecom's tweet, the smartphone is priced at Rs 60,000 and will be available at Rs 54,999. The availability is not officially from LG India. As mentioned above, LG India confirmed to Digit that the smartphone is not officially available in India right now, and its launch price and availability is still unknown.
Mahesh Telecom is also offering exchange option in collaboration with cashify. The smartphone is available at Rs 22,990 in exchange of iPhone 6s Plus with 128GB storage. Mahesh Telecom is offering discounts of iPhone, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge and even Note 4.
LG V20 drops the modular design seen with G5 but retains the dual rear camera setup. The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM and 32/64GB storage. LG V20 features a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture lens paired with another 8MP f/2.4 aperture lens for wide angle shots. There is also a 5MP front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for selfies.
LG V20 offers removable battery, a rarity among smartphones these days. It is backed by a 3200mAh battery along with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0.
