LG aims to sell 10 million units of its G2 smartphone. The smartphone will be unveiled in India on Monday, Sept 30.

LG Taiwan has confirmed the company’s target of selling 10 million units of its flagship smartphone, the G2. The company aims to achieve this target with global sales of the smartphone. The company is looking to sell 20,000 G2 units per month in Taiwan alone.

In markets where the G2 has launched, it has received quite impressive reviews. If speculations on the Internet are to be believed, then LG is using the G2 as a reference for the Nexus 5. The Nexus 4 was made by LG for Google and the Optimus G was used as a reference for the Nexus 4.

We have seen quite a few impressive smartphones from LG in the past such as the LG Optimus 4XHD, LG Optimus G and the Nexus 4.

The LG G2 will be unveiled to the audience in India on Monday. To succeed with its sales, especially in a brand sensitive market like India, LG will have to undertake some aggressive marketing and promotional campaigns to steal a bit of market share from Samsung, Apple and HTC among the flagship smartphone users.

The LG G2 has a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display and runs on the 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset. The device comes pre-loaded with Android 4.2. It has a 13MP rear camera and a 2.1 MP front camera. On the connectivity front, it offers 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, infrared and microUSB 2.0 support. It comes with 2 GB RAM and is available in 16/32 GB internal memory variants. The G2 comes with a 3000 mAh battery.
The G2 has Power/Lock and volume keys on the back panel just below the camera and does not have any keys on the side. On the software front, the device has an Answer Me feature that automatically answers the call when the phone is raised to the users ear. It also has a Plug & Pop feature and Slide Aside that enables users to multitask by simply “sliding” open apps off to the side with a three-finger swipe.
