LG will launch Q6, its mid-range smartphone with Full Vision display, in India on August 10. The company has started teasing the launch on its social media handle and the smartphone will be Amazon India exclusive. The teaser hints at the smartphone being priced at Rs 19,990 or lower with some reports suggesting it could retail for Rs 17,990.
With Q6, LG brought its 'Full Vision' display concept to lower-end of the price segment. The Full Vision display concept was first showcased on company's flagship G6 smartphone at MWC in February. With Full Vision display, LG minimises the bezels surrounding the display allowing for users to see more content and also lowering the footprint of the device.
The Q6 series was announced in South Korea last month and it includes three smartphones – Q6, Q6+ and Q6a. All the three variants differ only in terms of memory capacity and LG seems to be launching only the Q6 smartphone here in India. Amazon India, LG's retail partner has already put out a page promoting its launch and revealing device specification and sale date. The Q6 sports a 13MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash. The front camera is a 5MP unit with support for 100 degree wide-angle selfie. The camera also supports square camera mode offering four different shot modes that are ideal for Instagram uploads. In terms of software, it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and features aluminium unibody design with MIL-STD-810G certification. On the connectivity front, it supports WiFi 802.11n with WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS with A-GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and used USB Type-C port for charging. The LTE-enabled handset will be available in astro black, ice platinum and terra gold colour options.
