LG Optimus Pro and Net official, expected in India soon

We last saw LG’s Android Gingerbread QWERTY offering, the Optimus Pro, on sale in Italy a few days ago, a quiet launch without any fanfare. Just as quietly it seems, the Optimus Pro is now official, along with the new Optimus Net, which by all angles, looks to be the replacement of the LG Optimus One.

[RELATED_ARTICLE]If reports are to be believed, the mid-range Optimus Pro will be arriving in India by August itself. There’s been no word about India launch of the Optimus Net, and it is possible that LG only brings it later in the year, as a refresh to the highly popular Optimus One. The Optimus 3D is expected later this year as well.

Both new Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread LG Optimus devices bear Qualcomm’s new MSM7227T chipset, with an 800MHz processor, onboard graphics, and 256MB RAM. Both phones have a 3.15MP camera onboard, and the same connectivity options – 3G HSDPA (3.6Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and hotspot, and Bluetooth v3.0. Built-in storage is 150MB, with microSD expansion up to 32GB (a 2GB microSD card comes bundled).

The two devices also come with a document viewer installed. The only real difference between two devices is that the Optimus Pro has a QWERTY keypad and a 2.8-inch (240×320) display, while the Optimus Net is an all-touch phone with a 3.2-inch (320×480) screen.
