LG has answered customer queries on its Facebook page about the promised Gingerbread update for its popular low-cost Android offering, the LG Optimus One, informing the world that it will arrive by the end of May. More details will no doubt be forthcoming closer to that date, by which time we will hopefully have other low-cost Gingerbread devices vying for our hard-earned money.

The Gingerbread update will bring many changes, and you can also expect that LG will have improved the useful but disparate UI modifications it had skinned over Froyo last time around, with perhaps a more singular vision guiding the design of the widgets and interface.
