LG has joined the octa-core race with their own ARM-based processor, code-named Odin. The AnTuTu benchmark results for the CPU has just been posted online, revealing a test score of 27184. LG’s octa-core processor matches in performance with Samsung’s octa-core Exynos processor. Rumours are Odin uses ARM’s big LITTLE / Cortex A15 architecture as seen in Samsung Exynos 5 series, and can utilize at max four cores at a time.
Odin also integrates next-generation PowerVR Series6 ‘Rogue’ architecture. This series brings lots of new features like DirectX 11 support. It’s also planned to provide support for the next-generation OpenGL ES (code-name Halti).
