HIGHLIGHTS

The upcoming flagship smartphone from LG, the LG G6 is likely to feature an almost-bezel-less 5.7-inch display, and could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. Even with the rumored 3200mAh battery-pack, the LG G6 might come anywhere close to the current crop of battery efficient phones that sport 4000 mAh batter-packs.

The LG G6 has been in the news for quite some time now, and a new rumour suggests that the upcoming phone from the Korean electronics giant will get a relatively large 3200mAh battery. This info was apparently revealed to the local media by a company executive in Korea. This marks a 15 percent increase over the last generation LG G5's battery, which featured a 2800mAh removable cell. According to the report in etnews, the phone can be used for 12 hours of internet activity. However, LG is expected to abandon the modular design this year and the battery is likely to be a non-removable one.

The other big feature that LG has already teased is the display. Rumours suggest that the new device will have a 5.7-inch display offering QHD resolution and 18:9 Univisium display ratio. It is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, although it is still not clear how much RAM or storage the device will hold. LG has also confirmed that the phone will be waterproof, and would have a camera which can capture "everything all at once!”

Beyond that, there are reports that G6 will have a quad-DAC like the LG V20, which theoretically means superior audio quality. The LG G6 might also be the first non-Pixel phone to support Google Assistant. With a launch date of February 26, LG will be the first major OEM to launch its flagship smartphone in 2017. This will also give the G6 a headstart over the yet-to-launch, much awaited Samsung Galaxy S8.
