LG announces a mid-range version of its current flagship, LG G4 Beat to feature Snapdragon 615 SoC and 8-megapixel rear camera

LG has announced a mid-range version of the LG G4, called the LG G4 Beat. It is also known as LG G4s in Europe and Russian Commonwealth nations. The design is retained from the G4, and the G4 Beat will fall in between the flagship G4 and its budget edition, the LG G4c.

On the specifications sheet, the LG G4 Beat will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, along with 1.5GB of RAM. It also features a 5.2" 1080px display at 423 dpi pixel density. The primary camera has an 8-megapixel image sensor that retains the LG G4's Colour Spectrum sensor and Laser autofocus. There will also be a similarly-specced camera with a 13-megapixel image sensor for Latin American nations. The LG G4 Beat is loaded with Android Lollipop v5.1.1, and will be available in three colours – metallic silver, ceramic white and shiny gold.

Juno Cho, President-CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, said, "Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well-balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction." Initially, it will be available from this month in France, Germany and Brazil, followed by Canada, India, Russia, Singapore and others. Interestingly, the United States has not been mentioned anywhere in LG's press release. LG has not mentioned anything about the device's pricing, stating that prices and availability will be announced at the time of launch in respective countries.
