LG G2 mini goes official with 4.7-inch display and Android 4.4 KitKat
With the G2 mini, LG expands its G series portfolio to tap the mid-tier segment.
LG has has officially announced the G2 mini smartphone, which will debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. The new LG smartphone will be available in many variations: Single/Dual SIM, 3G and 4G LTE.
The G2 mini, smaller version of the current flagship (check out our LG G2 review), features a 4.7-inch display with 960 x 540 qHD resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm quad-core MSM8926 (LTE) / MSM8226 (3G) or 1.7GHz Nvidia quad-core Tegra 4i (LATAM LTE version) chipset.
The LG G2 mini runs Android 4.4 KitKat along with LG’s custom UI, which brings a slew of features such as Guest Mode, Plug & Pop, Clip Tray and Capture Plus. The smartphone has 1GB of RAM. It sports 8MP rear camera (13MP for LATAMLTE version) and 1.3MP front camera.
For connectivity, the LG 2 supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), A-GPS, NFC and (4G LTE version only). The smartphone is powered by a 2,440mAh (removable) battery. The LG 2 will be available in Titan Black, Lunar White, Red, Gold colour options.
The G2 mini global rollout will begin in March with the 3G dual-SIM model in CIS countries followed soon after by major markets in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia — including Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan — and Europe.
