LG India has posted a teaser image of its new flagship smartphone, the LG G2 on its Facebook page, suggesting the phone could see a launch in the Indian market very soon.
However, the teaser image doesn’t reveal much and comes with a tagline that says ‘Learning from You LG G2 Coming Soon’ and ‘The best surprises are always hidden on the back’. Apart from the teaser image, there is no official confirmation on the LG G2’s launch in India.
The teaser image could be a ploy to stimulate interest from Indian buyers of the flagship smartphone that was launched globally last month.
The G2 has a 5.2 inch display, which according to LG, is the largest display that’s operable by a single hand. This they have managed to achieve by minimizing the bezel (a mere 2.5mm). The screen itself is an IPS panel with a display resolution of 1080×1920. The phone also packs the much anticipated Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with its four-cores clocked at a whopping 2.2 GHz with 2GB of RAM for as much throughput as the phone may require. The phone comes with 16/32 GB of on-board storage along with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front facing camera.
The most unique aspect about the phone is not the processor or the camera, but the fact that LG’s tried to change up the design language we are so used to, and placed the home and volume buttons on the back of the phone. This, the company says, is because the back of the phone is where the users’ hands and fingers rest more naturally. It should be interesting to see just how intuitive the buttons are.
LG announced recently that the LG G2 is all slated for a worldwide launch. The phone was recently launched in the United States and Germany, after its initial release in the South Korean market.
