LeTV’s next smartphone will have 6GB of RAM!
Thought 4GB was all the RAM your smartphone could ever need?
How much RAM do you need on your smartphone? 1GB is no longer enough for an Android phone, 2GB is good, 3GB is brilliant, and Asus, OnePlus etc. have taken a step further to provide 4GB of RAM. Chinese smartphone maker and video content company, LeTV, is taking things a step further with a phone that has 6GB of RAM. Yes, you read that right, six whole gigabytes of RAM! The information comes from a source in the knowledge of developments within the company. The LeTV Le Max 2, which is expected to be launched in China soon, will have 6GB of RAM, said a source close to the company.
While 6GB of RAM is of course the selling point for the phone, rumours suggest that LeTV won’t stop here. The device will also have a 360-degree rotating camera (as you can see in the image below), and will run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 processor. Unless another device is launched in the meantime, this would also make it the first smartphone to sport the Snapdragon 820 SoC. As you can see in the leaked renders below, the phone will also have a 2.5D curved screen.
LeTV has been known in China for its content services, but the company launched its first smartphones earlier this year. The Le1, Le1 Pro and the Le Max were the world’s first phones to come with USB-Type C ports. It seems like the company is going for another ‘first’ this time, with 6GB of RAM on a smartphone!
