The Lenovo Phab 2 series of phablets consists of the Phab 2, Phab 2 Plus and the Google Tango-enabled Phab 2 Pro

If you bought one of Lenovo’s Phab2 series of smartphones, then we’ve got some bad news for you. The company has confirmed via its support page that it will not be updating any of those phablets to Android Nougat. This includes the Lenovo Phab 2, the Phab 2 Plus, and the Phab 2 Pro. The Phab 2 Pro was also the first device to come with Google's AR platform Tango, and it’s a little surprising for Lenovo not to provide support for such a significant device. It should also be noted that the Phab 2 Pro started shipping less than a year ago, and was launched in India in January this year. This also means that the recently announced Asus ZenFone AR is currently the only Tango-enabled device with Google’s latest operating system.

Last month, Lenovo rolled out the Android Nougat update to the Z2 Plus and the P2, claiming that its entire 2017 lineup of smartphones were updated to Nougat. The Lenovo K6 Power and K6 Note were updated to Nougat the month prior.

Lenovo also shifted to a stock Android interface on its Android smartphones instead of the Vibe UI it offered earlier. The first device to offer stock Android Nougat was the K8 Note that was launched yesterday. The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 2.3GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X23 processor. At the back is a dual camera setup consisting of 13MP and 5MP cameras. At the front is another 13MP camera. The phone is available in two variants, a 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant that is priced at Rs 12,999, while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant costs Rs 13,999. You can read our first impressions of the device here.
