Lenovo showcased the Vibe Shot in India recently and is aiming it at camera afficionados.

Lenovo has confirmed that the Lenovo Vibe Shot will be launched on September 22. The smartphone was first announced by the company at MWC earlier this year, followed by its announcement in India last month. The company has decided on a digital launch for the device, which will be broadcasted live on YouTube.

The Vibe Shot is aimed at camera lovers and comes with a 16MP rear camera along with a CMOS BSI sensor. The camera comes with a 6-element lens with f/2.2 aperture. Further, it has an ISO range of 100-1600 along with a triple-LED flash. The phone also offers various modes and settings, which users can adjust to different types of results while clicking a photo. The phone sports a 5-inch Full HD display and it comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. In addition to the 16MP rear camera, there is an 8MP front camera as well. It has 32GB built-in storage with support for microSD card of up to 128GB. It will also ship with a 3000mAh battery and Android Lollipop.

Lenovo hasn't announced pricing of the device yet, but it is expected to be priced at around 20k. This would put the phone in competition with Asus Zenfone 2 (4GB RAM) and the recently launched Moto X Play smartphone. But, the camera features of the Vibe Shot may help it attract good number of buyers towards it.

Incidentally, Lenovo and Motorola will be making smartphones in India as part of the Make in India initiative. The company has a plant in Chennai, which has a capability of 6 million units.
