Lenovo has launched a new Android smartphone under its S series, called the S850 for Rs 15,499. The company announced that the S850 is available for pre-order on the TheDoStore for a discounted price of Rs 15,299 and would be available across retail stores by the July end.
Lenovo had unveiled the S850 at the MCW 2014 in Barcelona. The smartphone has a 5-inch HD display with an all glass exterior and 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The S850 supports dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) with dual standby functionality.
The S850 has a 13 MP autofocus rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for video calling. It has 16GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity options included are 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth and Micro-USB support. The Lenovo S850 is backed by a 2000mAh battery, that according to the company delivers 13 hours of talk-time and up to 336 hours of standby time. Lenovo has preloaded the S850 with security software SECUREit, SHAREit that offers phone-to-phone data transfer without Wi-Fi or mobile network, and SYNCit, which gives permanent backup of all data the device.

Lenovo recently launched the S860 5.3 inch quad-core smartphone for Rs 21,499 in India. The Lenovo S860 has an 8MP rear camera with flash and 1.6MP front camera. It has 16GB internal storage. Connectivity options included are 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth. It packs a 4,000 mAh that delivers up to 43 hours on 2G and up to 24 hours on 3G.
