Lenovo K900 5.5-inch phablet coming to India May 10 for less than Rs. 25K
Intel Atom powered Lenovo phablet will be first launched in China, followed by an India launch.
The Lenovo K900, a phablet with a 5.5-inch display and an Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor clocked at 2GHz, will be launched in India on May 10 for a price below Rs. 25,000. Sources told NDTV that apart from the aggressive pricing, Lenovo will also be initiating a big marketing push, including TV ads during the Indian Premier League, in order to help the device compete against against similar devices already in the market such as the HTC Butterfly, the Samsung Galaxy Note II and the LG Optimus Vu.
We had earlier done a story on the K900 getting a May 6 launch date on the Lenovo China site and it appears that the phablet will be launched in India soon after. The K900 was first unveiled at CES 2013 in Las Vegas where it was revealed that the device would be first hitting stores in Asian countries like China, India, Russia, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
The K900’s 5.5-inch display has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density slightly over 400 ppi. The Lenovo will come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and 16GB of internal storage along with support for microSD cards up to 32GB. Imaging is taken care of by a 13MP camera with a Sony Exmor RS lens, the same lens found in the Sony Xperia Z’s camera.
